Getting to School
At Gaagagekiizhik Elementary School and Bimose Community High School, we understand that getting to school safely and on time is the first step toward a successful day of learning. We offer coordinated transportation options depending on where your family resides.
Reliable daily school bus transportation is provided directly by the Kiizhik Education Corporation for all eligible students living within the city limits of Kenora. Our routes are carefully planned to ensure minimal travel times and maximum safety for all youth.
For students residing outside the Kenora city boundaries within surrounding First Nations communities, busing routes are managed directly by your local leadership. Transportation can be arranged and coordinated by contacting your specific community.
Whether you are registering a new student or need to update your current address for the bus route, our administration team is here to help organize your child’s transportation.

Our staff will collect your address details, verify the appropriate route within the city limits, or help direct you to the correct contact person for your First Nation community.
To help you plan your daily schedule alongside our bus routes, please keep the following operational hours in mind:
Morning drop-off opens and playground/school supervision begins.
Official school day begins and morning snacks are provided.
End of the school day, student dismissal, and afternoon bus boarding/pick-up.
Afternoon yard and office supervision concludes.
Please note: There is no formal after-school program available on campus, so all students must be picked up or board their designated buses by 03:10 PM.
